Welcome to The Largo

Home of Porto
Condé Nast Traveller
"Few destinations are this artistically and gastronomically exciting while still feeling like home."

The Largo occupies a cluster of five historic buildings from the 15th, 16th and 19th centuries, carefully restored under the direction of architect Frederico Valsassina. Set in a privileged location, the three-year rehabilitation project prioritised the preservation of centuries of history and the safeguarding of craftsmanship and traditions embedded in the ensemble’s architecture. Original elements, such as granite portals and exposed stone walls, were retained and thoughtfully integrated into the new design, ensuring a harmonious bridge between past and present.

The interiors are the work of the renowned Danish studio Space Copenhagen, known for its “Poetic Modernism”. Their design balances contemporary sophistication with historic detail, creating a timeless atmosphere that inspires connection between guests, hosts, the people of Porto and the space itself. Through carefully executed craftsmanship, high-quality materials, rich textures and curated artworks, the project lives at the intersection of tradition and modernity, with meticulous attention to detail and authenticity.
